Support Notes > Using A Laptop To Access Network Home Folder

1. Click on the Finder icon in the Dock.

2. Click on the top menu bar Go > Connect to Server...

3. For the Server Address please enter:

green if you are a teacher.

indigo if you are business staff.

red or blue if you are a student.

4. Click on Connect.

5. You should be prompted Connect to the file server "xxxx.cdnis.edu.hk".

Choose Connect as Registered User and enter your login name in the field next to Name. It is not case-sensitive. Also enter your password in the field next to Password. When you type in this field, the actual characters will not be seen to protect your password from being stolen.

Click on Connect.

4. You should be prompted Select the volumes to mount. Look for your name in the list. If you cannot find your name this means you have connected to the wrong server. Please go back to Step 3 and verify the server.

If you find your name in the list highlight it and click on OK. The network home folder for you will mount.
