Support Notes > Force Quit Applications

If an application stops responding you can force quit the application using the Force Quit Applications window. Press on the keyboard Apple Option Esc.

Alternatively you can access Force Quit Applications by:

1. Click on the Apple icon in the top menu bar.

2. Choose Force Quit...

3. Highlight the application you want to quit and click on Force Quit. You will lose all unsaved changes to open documents related to the application you force quit.

Please note that if you try to force quit the Finder, the button changes from saying Force Quit to Relaunch. You cannot quit the Finder but you can force it to quit as needed and it will relaunch automatically.
