Support Notes > Firefox Does Not Open

On occassion you may find Firefox does not open or when you try to download something you get an error message like this:

Downloading
/private/Network/Servers/green.cdnis.edu.hk/Volumes/XSanVolume02/Teacher-Homes/... could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

Firefox usually malfunctions because of corrupt preferences. You can easily reset the preferences yourself by running an application found in CdnisShare.

1. Go in CdnisShare.

CdnisShare can be found on the desktop.

2. Run the application called Reset_Firefox_Preferences

Please pay attention to the information displayed when you run the application above.

If the Firefox error message is:

Close Firefox. A copy of Firefox is already opened. You can only open one copy at a time.

The application outlined above (Reset_Firefox_Preferences) will probably not solve the problem. Please Contact Us to report the problem and in the meantime please use Safari or Opera for accessing web sites. Unfortunately Camino runs like Firefox and will most likely not work as well.
